DailyWord ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our DailyWord mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Prayer conversations: Text you type in the AI Prayer Partner feature. These are stored locally on your device only and are not transmitted to our servers beyond what is needed to generate the AI response.
• Subscription information: If you subscribe to DailyWord Premium, payment is processed by Apple (App Store) or Stripe. We do not store your credit card details.

Information Collected Automatically

• App preferences: Theme selection (light/dark), reading streak data, saved favorites, and study progress — stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage.
• Usage data: We may collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the app experience. This data does not identify you personally.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not require you to create an account
• We do not collect your name, email, or contact information (unless you contact us for support)
• We do not collect location data
• We do not track you across other apps or websites
• We do not sell your data to any third party

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and improve the DailyWord Service
• Process your AI Prayer Partner requests via OpenAI's API
• Manage your Premium subscription
• Respond to support requests you initiate

3. Third-Party Services

DailyWord uses the following third-party services:

OpenAI

The AI Prayer Partner feature sends your conversation messages to OpenAI to generate responses. OpenAI's data handling is governed by their Privacy Policy. We use OpenAI's API through Replit's AI integration. Conversation text sent to OpenAI is not used to train AI models per OpenAI's API usage policy.

RevenueCat (iOS)

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions on iOS. RevenueCat may collect anonymous device identifiers for subscription management. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Stripe (Web)

We use Stripe to process subscription payments on the web. Stripe handles all payment data. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Expo / React Native

DailyWord is built with Expo. Expo may collect limited anonymous crash and usage data. See Expo's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Storage

Most of your data (favorites, reading streak, prayer conversations, study progress, theme preferences) is stored locally on your device only. It is not transmitted to or stored on our servers. This means:

• Deleting the app removes this data permanently
• Data is not synced across devices
• We cannot recover locally stored data on your behalf

5. Children's Privacy

DailyWord is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation, and no personal information is collected by default.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect data transmitted through our Service. AI Prayer Partner conversations are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. We do not store prayer conversation history on our servers.

7. Your Rights

Since most data is stored locally on your device, you have full control. You can:

• Delete your local data by uninstalling the app
• Manage your subscription through your Apple ID or Stripe billing portal
• Contact us to request deletion of any server-side data we may hold

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
